Mane Talk will cover such topics as: Hair Loss & Alopecia, How to get rid of Dry Itchy Scalp, What really makes hair grow, Hair Extensions, Natural Hair, The myth about Gray Hair, The proper way to color hair and Hair Cutting just to name a few!!
Mane Talk will be presented in a 30 minute program format to air once a week. The goal of Mane Talk is to educate its listeners to know as much as they can about “their” hair so that they can make a more educated decision when deciding to purchase hair products or even deciding to go to a salon to receive services on their hair.
In the United States of America, professional hairstylists must attend school to become licensed and certified in the area of cosmetology. This license entitles the professional cosmetologist to perform cosmetology services on clients. The information that is taught to cosmetologists in a 9 – 12 month schooling program is very detailed information about the world of hair. However, chemical hair products such as Colors, Relaxers, Perms and topical items such as Shampoos, Conditioners, Manufactured Hair, Hairsprays, Gels, etc… are sold on the shelf everyday to consumers who have no training in the field of cosmetology. African American Women and Men spend billions of dollars on hair products but the only form of media that is used to determine the best hair and beauty products to use is through Hair Magazines such as Sophisticates Black Hair, Hype Hair and Essence Magazines. We Now Introduce “MANE TALK” the only RADIO TALK SHOW that talks about African American HAIR!!!
